Another news will drive my trip towards a different plan,a few of my good mates known in Guanajuato – Mexico decided to join me in Antigua for New year and then travel with me for a few days.
Therefore we all met on the 30th of December in Antigua, the guys had an adventurous trip from their Mexican town, till down to Guatemala, but arrived safe and sound after long and long hours of bus, chicken bus and taxi.
The 31st started with a visit of the market after a nice breakfast, here the total team.

Ready to party! Our Canadian friend decided to wear the hut which will raise attention without any doubt. It was incredible how many people looked up at him as he was surely perceived as the most “crazy fun” guy of the crowd.
A bit before midnight, the Calle del Arco was the street to be as the fireworks started. It was packed of people. Antigua is one of the main destination for people from Guatemala Cuidad to party. Furthermore lots of groups of foreign tourists were also in town for the celebration.
So yes, in Guatemala there wasn’t more of a “end of the world” as anywhere else around the globe, and we reached 2013 without any issue

The rest of the night will be with a lot of drinks and meeting lots of people from all around the world.
